Emotional development

The school interprets education as in assisting the development of all personal characteristics. The strength of the personality lies in the integration of all aspects. Our culture places a high emphasis on the Intellect; our left side of the brain is very valued! Of couse this is necessary, however, without the integration of the right brain, which holds e.g. the emotional life, creativity and holistic thinking, the left-brain cannot do its work to it’s full potential.

Emotional Development

working_alone Self esteem depends on personal capabilities and the mirror held up by the people surrounding the child. Trust in the child, confidence in his ability to develop and love is the most important ingredients. In our school we trust the children that they can handle a level of autonomous work. And children live up to those expectations. We also provide a multi age range so that they are not easily compared to others. In class, they are one year the youngest and learn from the others. Then one year the middle one and very importantly the last year they are the leaders. They experience that all of these stages are necessary in life. Learning from others, does not mean you are weaker. It means you have a rich environment that can provide you with more opportunities.

Future level of functioning depends on the Image of the Self. Children who feel good about them selves, will become positive strong contributors, they will take initiative and pull others along!
