Toddler Community

15 months to 3 year old

The Toddler Community caters to children from the time they walk securely up to the age of three. The environments have been created with great care and with very specific criteria in mind, therefore they differ from other settings traditionally offered to this age children.

The criteria underlining the main aims help the children to develop to their utmost. It gives the opportunity to integrate the personality and consequently becoming independent at a level appropriate to their age. The environment is completely adapted to their size and needs. This helps them to get dressed by themselves, go to the tiny toilet, eat and drink independently, choose activities, and by doing so develop to a strong human being.
By showing the appropriate actions in a slowed down, precise and isolated manner, the children, who are great observers, can do the activities they have seen adults do. This is so important for the development of self-esteem. They experience unconsciously that they can make a contribution to the group, which gives them a feeling of being a valued member. This is one of the first steps in becoming a well functioning social being.

Toddlers can do so much and go about it with grace and peace. The activities help towards their control of movement as well as the integration of mind and body.

The first three years of life are of great importance; it is the time in life where the foundation of the personality is formed. The Toddler Community offers an environment that is conductive to these important processes.
