School Outing

On Thursday the 16th of October, our Primary classroom will be going on an excursion to the ‘EURO SPACE CENTRE’, located in Transinne, below the city of Dinant. The children will travel by school bus where the commute will take approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes.  

At the Euro Space Centre, the children will explore the Solar System, Gravity, Human Innovation and Space Travel. The visit involves being ‘an Astronaut for a day’ – we will discover the Soyuz Rocket, the Ariane Rockets and the Space Shuttle, to name a few. Some of the questions we are going to find answers to are: Who builds them? How do they take off? What are they used for (satellites, supplies)? How many people can it transport? -How long do astronauts have to train for? Does it return to Earth; to name just a few of our guiding questions!

After our morning as Astronauts, we shall have a picnic lunch at the restaurant, and end the day with a walk in the forest. Afterwards, we shall catch the bus back to school, returning in time for usual pick-up.

The International Montessori School offers a thoroughly prepared and beautiful learning environment, supporting the complete development of children and students from the ages of 1 to 18.
