During this Information Evening, the Secondary teaching team will present the needs of the young adolescent and older adolescent as they grow within their Secondary education career, exploring how the Specialist teachers respond to these needs within the context of the IB and Montessori method. Parents will be invited to visit multiple ‘pedagogical stations’ to learn about the smooth transition between Primary and Secondary school, about the young adolescent’s social development and becoming responsible with the help of the design cycle. We will learn how the older adolescent is creating their place in society and choosing a personal project, and finally about the transition to the Diploma Programme and finding an orientation to a future choice of studies and/or career. All along this journey, the teachers will explain in theory and practice how we as adults can support the young minds in their decision-making process in order for them to become confident, autnomous and independent life-long learners.
